Simple yet elegant, community-focused, and clean, Soufriere Guesthouse is one of the cheapest accommodation I found in Dominica. I stayed at their guesthouse, located in the south of the island, for two weeks.
Here’s why I loved the guesthouse:
The private room I booked with a queen size bed was less than $65 a night, and had a private bathroom.
The guesthouse is located a short walk to the best snorkeling & diving site in Dominica.
The view of the mountains from the hammocks on the balcony is wonderful.
The guesthouse is located close to great hiking trails and two sulfur springs.
The owners and other guests were really cool.
I will put Soufriere Guesthouse in the category of a very nice “hostel.” There is a well-stocked communal kitchen (with COVID-19 protocols in place), and there are also dormitory rooms available for a family or group of friends for USD 20 a person. It’s a great place to meet other travelers.
Working with locals, I provide you with uniquely curated experiences and recommendations that get you off the beaten track and into the heart of the community you travel to.
