Whimsical and colorful, the Tiny Houseis perfect for individuals who want to be away from the bustle of popular tourist locations but close enough to indulge in that if desired. The Airbnb is located in a residential area by the ocean about a 20-minute drive from the tourist-loved Grande Anse beach. The house is close to public transportation, and the owners also have a four-door Kia Sportage you can rent.
Everything about the Tiny House encourages interaction with nature. The compound within which the Tiny House is located is lush with fruit trees, flowers, plants, and good vibes. The balcony has the perfect chair to sit on like royalty and feel the kisses from the crisp Caribbean breeze. The windows have mesh screens allowing the fresh air and the chirps of birds to infiltrate the inside while keeping out those murderous Grenadian mosquitos.
But that's not all that makes this place unique. the house was built and decorated eco-consciously. For example, the sink in the bathroom is made from a barrel, the water is solar heated, and the staircase railing is made from repurposed pipes. This quaint accommodation is one of the few unique ones in Grenada.
I reserved and paid for a stay at the Tiny House on Airbnb but did not end up staying there. It was not my fault. Blame it on the Grenada Ministry of Health's changing COVID regulations for arriving travellers while I was up in the air needing me to mandatorily quarantine for 5 days in a much more expensive, but the cheaper options, government approved hotel.
Theresa, the host of the Airbnb, was incredibly understanding of the change in plans and welcoming to Grenada, I was left in tears. She and her husband came to my hotel the next day I arrived to drop me a care package that had a meal, fruits from their trees, and other delicacies. Theresa and her husband also took turns calling during my quarantine. After my test results came back negative, I visited Theresa and got to see the Tiny House along with the note they had written in anticipation of my arrival.
Working with locals, I provide you with uniquely curated experiences and recommendations that get you off the beaten track and into the heart of the community you travel to.
